1 Eligibility 

1.1 You must have at least one Singaporean in the Team. All participants must be Singaporean/PR. Category A (Junior) from age 12 to 17 years or Category B (Senior) from age 18 and up. Revised on 5/12/2020

1.2 Each team must consist of a minimum of 3 members or a maximum of 5 members with at least 2 Indian members. 

1.3 One of the team members shall assume the role of Team Leader and register for this event on behalf of his/her team.  

1.4 You are not allowed to be in more than one team for this event. 

1.5   Current businesses may participate if their registered company is less than 1 year old. You may email to request for an exception if your company is (<1.5 Years).  This is at the discretion of the organiser.

2 Registration & Verification 

2.1 Registration to be made through the link provided only. No physical registration is allowed. Your submission of idea will accompany the registration. 

2.2 Each person can enter only in ONE team, and each team is allowed to enter only in ONE category (Cat A or B) in the Competition.

2.3 Teams must make payment within 3 days of registration to confirm their participation. The payment must be made on the online registration system. If else, you may contact the organiser to arrange a transaction that does not involve the use of CREDIT/DEBIT cards. (Applicable to only CAT A participants)

2.4 All registrations must be submitted by 30th November 2020  

3 Submission/Presentation

3.1 Stage 1 Submission (Pitch Deck / Video)

3.1.1 Pitch Deck – PowerPoint Slides (Deadline : December 14, 2020)
  • Your pitch deck must be less than or equal to 10 Pages
  • The file should be named in the format: <TeamName>_<LeaderName>_Stage1.pdf
  • Email Heading: Competition Submission <TeamName>_Stage1
  • Your mentor must have been presented with these slides prior to submission.
  • You may re-submit once before the final Business plan submission date.
3.1.2 Pitch Video (Deadline : December 14, 2020)
  • Your pitch video must be within 4 to 5 minutes 2 – 3 minutes with additional 1-2 minutes for Q&A from judges. Revised on 5/12/2020
  • The judges preliminary Q&A will take place on 20th Decemeber, during the conference. Revised on 5/12/2020
  • Your video must be in landscape mode.
  • Your video must be HD 720P (Most modern phones offer this option)
  • Your video format must be mp4 or .MOV format.
  • File Name: TeamName_ LeaderName_PitchVideo.mp4
  • Your video will be selectively shown on Conference Day 19/20th December.

3.2 Stage 2 Submission 

  • A detailed business plan not exceeding 15 pages, in pdf/word format. The file should be named in the format: TeamName_ LeaderName_BP.pdf
  • Email Heading: Competition Submission <TeamName>_Stage2
  • Submission by 21st December 2359 HRS.
  • Any extension of deadlines will be at the discretion of the organiser. 

4 Prizes  

4.1 Only one prize will be given per team. 

4.2 CAT A Prizes

  • Prize 1 – 3 ( up to $500)

Addon Prizes :

  • Best Pitch ($100),
  • Best Innovation ($100),
  • Best Social Entrepreneurship Idea ($100)

4.3 CAT B Prizes

  • Prize 1 – 3 (up to $3000),

Addon Prizes :

  • Best Pitch ($100),
  • Best Innovation ($100),
  • Best Social Entrepreneurship Idea ($100)

4.4 The participants are encouraged to use the prize money to develop their business ideas. 

4.5 Organising Committee’s Decision is final on the number of prizes given or to whom the prizes are given to.  

4.6 Organising Committee reserves the right to revise the prize amount based on the participation response. In such a case, the participants will be notified.

5. The Organising committee’s decision is final.

5 Guidelines for Business Plan

5.1 The business plan should include the following:

  • • Company overview (e.g. mission, vision, objectives, business structure)
  • • Environment analysis (e.g. industry analysis, market analysis, social needs)
  • • Products and/or services
  • • Innovation (e.g. innovative elements, use of digital solutions)
  • • Business strategy (e.g. competitive positioning)
  • • Operations plan (e.g. inputs, processes, location)
  • • Marketing plan (e.g. potential customers, marketing strategies)
  • • Financial plan (e.g. funding)

6 Guidelines for Pitch Deck 

  • The Powerpoint pitch deck should include vital information that will tell a convincing story about your solution and execution without needing to tell proprietary information or trade secrets. 
  • Keep it clear and concise 
  • Show numbers and key assumptions, ensure you check your numbers against credible benchmarks
  • Use illustrations that simplify and explain 
  • Maintain alignment between the business plan and pitch presentation. The key points must match

6 Guidelines for Pitch Video

Guiding principles for CAT A

  • Explain exactly what you are going to sell
  • Explain exactly what is unique about your idea
  • Explain and describe who you plan to sell it to.
  • How are you going to find your customer?
  • How is your idea impacting society positively? e.g Helping the disabled OR Donating your profit to a charity etc.

Guiding principles for CAT B

  • Explain exactly what your product or service is.
  • Identify the Social Entrepreneurship Element.
  • Explain exactly what is unique about your product or service.
  • Explain exactly who your target audience is.
  • Explain exactly how you intend to acquire these customers.
  • Explain your revenue model.
  • Show them the exit strategy
